Ferrari Club Day

The Ferrari club of SA consisting of over 100 owner/members, held an “open day” at Kyalami. Owners were invited to bring their cars and takes turns driving around the track.
When not driving, the cars were parked in the pits, on display for invited guests to admire.

Later, all the cars were lined up on the starting grid and the public were invited to come over and walk amongst all the cars, chatting to owners and drivers.
Track rides were given to friends and invited guests. Including rides given in a classic Ferrari, driven by Jaki Scheckter, nephew of ex-world champion F1 driver, Jodi Sheckter.

We went up for the day and took some Hassys with us. Including the uber-cool, limited edition Ferrari model H4D40.
Adrian (photographer, car lover and Sunshine co-owner…in that order) even managed to get a trip around the track in the classic Ferrari. Don’t let the vintage nature of the car fool you though, it still goes…and quickly! Jaki was pretty consistently recording faster times than many of the guys in their new super-machines!!

We managed to chat with quite a few people about the Hasselblad,  the cars and the relationship that exists between the two brands.
A couple of excited photographers got a chance to test the cameras. Using one of the worlds most famous and desired car brands as a subject with arguably the best camera system in the world…not a bad day out.

Hasselblad training specialist Gemma Moustafa from the UK came over to help out on the day and to teach us and other Hasselblad users a few new tricks with cameras and software during the week after the event. She left super impressed not only by the cars but also by the level of enthusiasm shown by South African photographers in general!

All in all, it was an awesome day of fast cars and quality cameras…We are looking forward to joining up with the club in the future and hopefully combining these two iconic brands again!!!

Thanks to all involved in making the Ferrari club day such a success.
Hope to see you all at the next one!!!

So sad we couldn’t be there!  Would have loved the opportunity to take a couple of shots with the Hassy…

Keep me updated for your next excursion in Cape Town. We just have to be there!

The Ferrari wins. It’s not “that” fast and the Ozzy guys in their Holdens will be waaaay quicker, but the engine noise alone is worth it. online marketing firm

Nobody likes to keep their home dull and that’s why the use as much light as possible to keep the spirits up but lighting up a house doesn’t mean just switching on a lot of light it is way more than that.
