Photographer Adrian Nakic took a Hasselblad, a model, an Airstream trailer and a crew of willing helpers to the beach for a shoot.

A fairly simple idea but simplicity is a lot more complicated to achieve than you’d think. Turning a quiet beach scene into a trashy trailer park inhabited by a gorgeous, scantily clad girl and her kids takes a bit of doing. Luckily Adrian had convinced Tracey Jacobs to do the styling so everything looked seamless and most importantly, looked awesome!

It was a fun and eventful shoot with banana fights (for the kids…), broken trailers (not our fault) and bathroom trips to the petrol station a few km’s away (scheduled around the mood of the drivers) setting the scene for the day.


The result is a series of subtle yet moving images, equally at home as an editorial on the pages of a fashion magazine or in a modern-day Hans-Christian Anderson story book.


By the end of the day, we are all ready to move into the trailer, living by the sea like gypsies. Doesn’t look so bad, if the resulting images are anything to go by. And if the girl is part of the package…sign me up for trailer living!
